Okay, i've started watching it, and it's amazing. This family could
be my family. It could be my family except i had two older sisters,
and no brother.

It was amazing seeing the little kid get his hair shaved in the front
yard. My dad bought a razor, and shaved my head a few times, but in
the bathroom. When the Beatles came along though, i was about 9, i
started to rebel. My dad made 8mm films of me and my long hair, and
then I got it cut after a huge fight (i wanted to grow it long) and
some sort of reward, and then he filmed it cut.

I recently was cleaning out things i wasn't ever going to use again,
and gave the electric razor my dad left me to Goodwill. He also
thought he was going to save lots of money by buying his own shaver
and giving me haircuts at home and skipping the barber. I wonder
where that thought came from.

It obviously was promoted somehow to a lot of consumers of the
fifties.

Just Finished the 4 parts. Absolutely wonderful.

Did they really have a newspaper on Main Street? I guess they would
put your preprinted paper into the stand so that when your kids come
out of city hall you point out the paper to them. Wonderful.

That could easily be done today with computers. With newspapers
disappearing they would fit perfectly on Main Street, U.S.A.

If you haven't seen this, you really will enjoy yourself. What a
great story teller.

His narration reminds me of a famous guy, from the forties, and
fifties, who used to do celebrity news reels. I just can't remember
the guy's name. Well i guess i have to sign up to this site now so i
can comment on how wonderful this home movie documentary is.

Take care.

Your Pal,
Ed
