Twelve times a year the world's only FREE Disney park opens to the
public! (Take THAT Cartman!)
Today, 10/18/2015, is the third Sunday of the month, so from 11:00 am
until closing at 3:00, the volunteers of the Carolwood Pacific
Historical Society would love to tell you about Walt Disney's
involvement with trains, featuring
* Walt's Barn
* "The Combine" combination baggage/coach Disneyland Railway car No.
101, operated around DL until 1975.
* Ollie Johnston's railway station, a children's playhouse he built for
his kids on his backyard rail layout.
* Stationary Steam Plant, demonstrated by Los Angeles Live Steamers
volunteers - shaft & straps, bells and whistles.
* Collection of ephemera and equipment related to the
tinker/putter/thoughtful place in which Walt formulated the creation of
Disneyland and indeed is the relocated spot representing the twinkle in
his eyes which sparked WDI (Walt Disney Imagineering) and is the very
room where Imagineering was born.
* Friendly and helpful volunteers happy to answer questions.
* Like minded enthusiasts interested in discussing the way Walt made the
world a better place.

5202 Zoo Drive, Griffith Park
Los Angeles, California

Exit Forest Lawn Drive of the 134 or Zoo Drive of the I 5 and head
towards Travel Town.
Use the East entrance for Walt's Barn tours,
also visit our gracious hosts - The Los Angeles Live Steamers - for the
best 1/8 scale railroad excursion I've ever experienced: 52 times a year
on Sundays 11 - 3.
