Any news on International West? Supposedly the city of Garden Grove is going
to build this massive project that will include a 100 acre theme park. I
haven't heard any news in nearly seven years. Any updates? Has it been
cancelled?

And if it is built, is Disney going to be involved in any way?

The Los Angeles Times just did a story on it, to quote Monty

"It's not dead yet...!"

The current 'crisis of the day' if the project is to ever move forward
is clearing an RV campground that's turned into a residential area.

Problem being that the RV Park has never enforced a 30-days maximum
stay rule and required campers to drive away for one day and then come
back for another 30 days - most of the recreational vehicles are
undrivable.

When they qualify as residents and not just transient campers, they
would have to be paid relocation assistance to move. Cha-Ching!

Simple solution - raise the rent. Then raise it again and again. As often as
the law will allow. This should force most of the residents to leave.

Or build a low income apartment building and give the campers first dibs.
The area desperately needs one and it would help improve their image.

Back to Disney...

I think Disney and Garden Grove should work together on this. Consider the
shopping zone to be an extension of Downtown Disney (Uptown Disney?). Link
the projects together with a monorail and/or people mover. Let Disney build
the theme park, maybe Westcot?

Eventually, when the economy improves, it might be possible to extend the
monorail to John Wayne airport.
