Does anyone know if there is a close by grocery store to Disneyland? We are
going to stay at the Disneyland Hotel this May and would like to be able to
pick up some snacks, bottled water, etc., while we are there. thanx

There is a convenience store right on the corner of Harbor Blvd &
Katella Ave on land that I'm sure Disney would have liked to have gotten
hold of when they built California Adventure!

Just ask any of the people who work there after you check in, especially
the concierge. I am sure most of the people who work at the Disneyland
hotel know the area quite well and where the supermarkets are located.

There is a Ralph's down a ways on Harbor Blvd. - should have better
prices than a convenience store.

Other posters replied with the most expensive 7/11 in the land, on the
North-West corner of Harbor Bl. and Katella Ave.
Disney offered a huge sum of money for that lot when they were building
Disney's California Adventure. The 7/11 was too lucrative to die.
When you go in, they size you up. If you hold something up and ask "How
much is this?" they reply " ...for you, $3.00." for a bottle of water,
and that represents 75ยข off what you would pay in the park. It's
equivalent to a Hilton Suite Shop - limited selection at theme park prices.
There are many residential neighborhoods nearby. So there are many
markets nearby as well. A quick search of google maps for markets near
1313 Harbor Boulevard shows a wide range of types ranging from
supermarkets/grocery and box stores (Target, Wall-Mart, Mega-Lo Man,
SuperK) to quaint and ethnic package/liquor corner stores.
Liquor stores here in California offer EVERYTHING! From gum to guns,
Rollerblades to rolling papers, it seems alcohol is just a sideline, but
you'll have to purchase your ammunition separately (automatic ring caps
or traditional revolver paper strip.)
Food 4 Less, Ralphs, Vons, Stater Bros., are all supermarkets nearby.
One major block west of the Disneyland Hotel is Euclid street, that's a
good place to start. Enter:

market loc: 1313 S Harbor Blvd, Anaheim, CA 92802

You may also want to visit another store nearby. There are plenty of
souvenir stores in the area, indeed many more than necessary, but this
one is different, and you may want to make it your first stop, as soon
as you arrive, and certainly before you enter Disneyland.
The merchandise offered for sale in

Disney's Character Warehouse Outlet Store http://www.ams-liquidation.com
<http://www.ams-liquidation.com/>
243 Orangefair Mall (directly across Lemon Ave. from Sonic)
Fullerton, CA 92832
(714) 870-9363

is the same merchandise that was formerly available at the Disneyland
Resort.. The great values are available because this merchandise has
been discontinued.

Easiest is the Food 4 Less just down Katella near Euclid. There's also a
CVS inthe same center, a Walgreen's and a K-Mart on the other side of
Euclid. Brookhurst at Katella is Albertsons, Brookhurst at Ball is a
Ralph's (same as Krogers).

Just as a note, you casn get a large selection of snacks, water, etc at
Big Lots, same center as the CVS and Food 4 Less. Big Lots is a
clearance outlet (used to be Pic n Save).

almost 30 years ago, when I last lived in CA there was a grocery store
at that location that was the closest to our house, I remember returning
soda bottles there for the deposit, and sometimes buying a few comics
off their rack (though I also rode my bike to a comic book store in
Garden Grove fairly often too)
