It occurs to me that i forgot to change my newsgroup identity since the last
time i canceled messages which were offensive. and that i may have done great
damage to my credibility.
let me assrue you I am not, and have never been "Queers Don't Belong" i do take
measures to reduce hate at every opportunity
i only noticed when i went to cancel the chinese sneakers that I posted hidden
mickeys with the name leftover from that cancel from long ago. my penalty for
lurking for so long without posting.
as reparations, i'll tell you how to eliminate the hate spam (in windows mail)
right click the message, in the list
select properties
click the details tab
click message source button and close properties
in the left pane, where you have your inbox adn newsgroups
right click the news-server (for me its news.aioe.org, for many its
eternalseptember)(don't right click the newsgroup rec.arts.disney.parks)
copy the feilds from teh message source to the newsgroup properties
fields -name, organization, E-mail address and reply address. what's most
important here is the email address so the cancel message attempt doesn't
return with a message that says you can only cancel your own messages.
click OK to save the changes. now you are masquearding as the offneder
left click the offending message in the messages pane (not the body of the
message) so the message body appears below
right click "message" in the menu bar at the top, if you matched the email then
the drop down will show cancel, click that. if you didn't match your newsgroup
properties identity to the same email as the one you're canceling, then it will
be grayed out.
now you've sent a cancel message, depending on your news server and how it
handles it and how it may or may not forward that to other news servers the
cancel message may even propogate to other servers which may or may not
honor/propogate the cancel.
I like to start the whole procedure by copying my newsgroup identiy fields to a
notepad to make it easy to restore my identiy verbatim when the cancels are all
taken care of. (which I failed to properly restore months ago and ended up
replying as 'queers don't belong' by accident)
I considered canceling my hidden mickeys post and reposting as the correcting
it by resending it with my name.
but instead I leave you with the powerful information with hopes that you will
not abuse the power and excercise it responsibly.
remember that even if your newsserver honors the cancel and the newsservers
which recive the propogation stream honor it, that several newsservers ignore
any and all such cancel and control messages. so even if you post something in
your own hand and legitimatly take back what you said, there will always be
some remanent lingering somewere in the uusnet, so be carefull and hold your
messages when you may be posting with drunk goggles and moderate your own posts
with delay.
now i'm back to lurking in the woodwork, and canceling the hate as neccessary
to make the world a better place.

the three umbrellas over the "it's a small world" dispatch towers form one too.
the esplanade ends (interrupted by the b.s. security tents and fence) and the
shape of light collored tile between main gate and the floral display,
although forshortened, gives me the impression of a mickey as well.
